Where: Grandview Masonic Lodge
When: October 18th, 2009
Time: Roughly 5pm - Post Battle
Cost: $7 - $6 w/feast ware or a side dish; $5 with both feast ware and a side dish
Lords and Ladies, it's finally happened! The Dominion is hosting it's first annual (hopefully!) feast this fall! -cheer!-
Right now, details are sketchy at best but we want to give everyone plenty of time to plan this into their schedule if time is permitting. It is on a Sunday, and battle -may- or may not be called for that weekend due to a scheduling conflict with the community center we fight beside. I'm leaving those details to Lady Mystic and Deverbero who are heading battle that day.
What we are planning on doing is catering in a large amount of meat and having the Dominion Cooking Guild, as well as other members of Dominion (and anyone else who plans on coming and pitching in!) bringing in additional side dishes. We do plan to cover beverages as well, however the Lodge does have a strict no-drinking policy indoors. We -might- have something set up where people can step outside to do their liquoring business, but we haven't completely graphed all that out yet.
The admission fee is going to largely be determined by the amount of people attending (so RSVP to my inbox!) and how much the catering of the meat is going to run. Right now, we're planning to just charge enough to cover the expenses of hosting the feast. However - any money we make is already designated into a special charity fund we're going to set up at the feast.
That's right... come out, hang with your friends, stuff yourselves full AND help a local charity! Dominion is working very hard to put together everything at the least expense possible.. but if we wind up with an extra 50 bucks.. then we're going to give that back to the community. Right now we're in the process of determining just which local group we're going to go with, but we do know this is something we've discussed as being a recurring theme.
Also, if anyone is a talented crafter of any means - we're tentatively planning on having a raffle to also raise money towards the charity-that-has-not-yet-been-determined. I know I plan on having some pants and I'm sure we could use some epic foamsmiths to produce some nice stuff for us to raffle off to a good home and for a good cause. I know money is tight these days, but what better way to end the year than to give a little if we can to someone less fortunate right? Besides, this is also a great way to let people know we're not just random freaks. We're random freaks who are awesome to the community and not reckless d-bags
Anyone who's interested in getting together to cook, wanting to raffle their things, or help coordinate PLEASE get in touch with me either via the PM box, Facebook, or e-mail me (it's on my profile!) and I'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction or put a chore into your lap to help the rest of us out.
Can't wait to see everyone there! Remember! This is a feast if you have dress garb this would be the primo time to bust it out before winter!
