Ok best dag stuff is scheduling to go out of buisness next month. im kinda bumbed about that but! i have an idea. He has these cool things called arsenal kits. i am prity excited about them! but if we are going to take advantage of them we need to jump on it now.
Arrows arsenal: 60 arrow kits w/o shafts, glue, or tape, for $126 that's $2.10 each!!! they look like good arrows to me. i think we could get the watch decked out for dirt cheap.
Swords arsenal: 10 short swords kits w/ stabbing tips for $209, or 10 36" broadsword kits for $219. I dont like the stabing tips myself but... thats just me but the broad swords are nice. and for ~$22 each it sounds prity good to me. and the kits come with everything.
Shield breaker arsenal i dont like bc of the reds.... i dont realy like his reds but his glaves and spears are sweet!
Im thinkin we could make a ton of these things. maby the watch hoast an arrow/sword building class/party and everyone buy a kit and make an arrow/sword.
He has amazing ideas and he could make some realy sweet stuff for the future, i would hate to see him go under...
Here is the info that i think is most relevent. Its winter, but thats when the watch grows in strength. I would love to see every other watchmen able to either be an archer or a polearm fighter and everyone be able to fight sword and board.
PLZ tell me what u guys think!

I think their EVA is dunga. Which is what all his sword kits are made of. That's one of the main reasons he's going out of business. Tons of people including me complained about it ripping too easy. I was warned but I bought some anyways. Brutus sent out an email to the buyers insisting the foam is made for his designs. It was a bad purchase but not all hope is lost. I do like using the EVA for outer layers and crafting designs for PD weapons. Also Drunken Bob says it makes great rocks for him.
I also bought a stabbing tip kit which was decent. I would just stray away from any EVA he's selling for blades and such. Unless you plan on using a more durable foam for the base layers near the core. (such as blue foam)
I will admit the arrow arsenal sounds pretty sexcellent.

we need some arrows in The Nine Borithn, we have a few made but we had three bows show up when we were checkin our weapon stock, and only four arrows, needless to say that kinda sucked for them, i wish we had the money to buy an arrow arsenal, it would help tremendously

Woot a new forum to lurk!
I just wanted to pipe in and say anything we can do to support Brutus's efforts at best dag stuff would be a boon to the dag community. The guy does good things and having another major seller other than the ed monopoly is a good thing. (not saying either is better, just that having competition, and relevant discourse, is good for a market.)
As far as what Skeith has said about BDS's eva, I would say that using any eva as a base layer is usually a bad idea--it wears and hits great for outer layers but cores just chew it up--no matter where its bought from as far as my experience tells. Do the super-dense EVA strips he sells offset this? Now that I finally have a job again I plan on picking some of his mats up; although, I fear its too little too late...
I would say that I'm not sure about his stabbing tip designs from his site photos, but I've never seen one in person. They look like they offer great compression but would fold over too easy. His arrow kits look awesome and I've had so-so experience with arrow kits elsewhere. I think his use of kevlar strips to stabilize cores on stabbing tips and to prevent wear on ax-heads is pure genius.
It sucks that BDS is likely going out of business. But I say (for what my opinion is worth) anything we can do to help offset Brutus's business costs and support his efforts is a good thing.

Ok any other feedback? any other projects worth considering? Arrows: if people want arrows, i can see 2 ways to provide it. 1) one or a small group of people buy an arsenal, make completed arrows, and sell them. 2) several people pool together and split the heads between them and make the arrows themselves. Weapons: I would love to see more spears and there is no reason that people shouldn't have a good sword. I think everyone should have at least 2 weapon sets. sword&board & spear/arrows/red/2wep Also if anyone is needing gear/armor made. I wont build it for you but if you provide the supplies i will gladly help you build when ever you need provided I'm not busy with school....

Having fondled several best dag stuff swords... They suck. The foam tore up instantly.
One friend purchased a reblade kit, built it on monday, by saturday the blade tore in 4 places and had exposed core. The core exposure was on the blade edge, not on the sides or tip. So it WAS the foam, not the contruction.
The foam i to soft for blades. WOuld work excellent as an outer layer, or as a stab tip, but as hte blade itself, it sucks.

Not all foams are created equal lol. I havent used much eva but i have extensive experiance with blue foam. A typical sword made by layers preforms and deteriorates vastly different than with a sandwich design. Adding reinforcement to the tips can compensate. i dont know how using different materials would effect preformance, like a blue foam bace layer or 2 with an eva hitting surface.

I think the arrow aresenal is awsome, I think I'll get in touch with Krystal about that and see if I can't convince her to provide the arrows for me and I provide the cash when I show up in the late Spring for Gates.
