Good morrow all Dagorhirrim! That time of year is drawing upon us once again... we proudly present to you the 6th Annual War of the Iron Fist that will be held during the second weekend of September, Thursday through Sunday once again. This year we are doing things a little differently. After the last few events it has not only become appropriate, but necessary to no longer have Dominion as the sole administrator of . these events. While we will still host the event, this will be the first inter-realm War of the Iron fist, and hopefully if all goes well this will be the pattern for our future events. Once again I will have the honor of coordinating this event and I look forward to working with each one of you to make this the best event ever! The concept behind the inner workings will be that each realm as a whole will take responsibility over an aspect of the event (weapons check, tournaments, etc) and will be coordinated through liasons from each of the realms who will report to my heads who will in turn report to me. But let me make this very clear, my event council and I are soley there to oversee the passings of War, hopefully, as in the past, the event will more or less run itself. Later today or tomorrow I will be in contact with the council to start nailing down the details and more posts will follow to establish comminucation for this event. This is going to be a fantastic event, let's all make it so as this is OUR event!

About how may people does it take to run weapons check? I might volunteer Haven for the job, but I would need to know how many people it takes, and I'd need to know how many people from Haven are going. (there should be plenty of us.)

Technically you can do it with just one person but I would use at least five

Five if the "head checker" is doing armor check should give you at least one for arrows/flight, one for shields, and two for melee.. but you'll obviously need extras for backs, a 2nd person for arrows/flight would be ideal (one to check spec, one to shoot/throw).
We did it assembly-line style at Rag one year, where we had 2-3 people checking spec, another 2-3 hit testing, and two to tag the passed weapons. It worked crazy good, and you'd only need about 10 people to rotate out. Changing backs as needed, etc... so as long as you have 5 who are dedicated to weapons check, you can grab 5 stragglers out of the crowd for the rest.
Edited to remind: Technically at inter-realm events, you're supposed to have 2 people from 2 different realms doing armor check, to cover all bases. It doesn't always happen (read: once?) but if you'd like me to, I'd be willing to help ya out in that department.

Right. We would get a few people from other realms put together ahead of time who would check all the Haven stuff, to maintain integrity.

I will be on duty the entire time I am on site. Security will be headed up from my new campsite, back near Nyami, (back past the pond, thank you Igit.) please be at the HQ 5 minutes before your shift, and be sober.

Saturday night in the Caravan of the Forgotten campsite, ((back near Nyami, Alterra, and the end of the known world on site)) The Fallen Clan will be hosting a non-alcoholic party. So, if you are not interested in the typical nighttime activities, or to young to enjoy them, or just plain wanna hang with the gray, swing on by between 8- until we give up.

Okay. I talked to Haven, and we'd definitely be able to do weapons check.
Actually, we'll just plan on helping run weapons check, and then if nothing else, we'll just check Lyonesse's stuff.
