Howdy folks of the M.D.B.
We are working on episode 4 of Have Stick, Will Travel which is all about top stick in the Midwest. We are trying to cover more Dag and Bel content (it is an inde podcast so we want to give more time to every group in the region). What we need from you is, WHO is the top stick in the Midwest. Specifically Missouri and Illinois. If there is someone bigger and better, meaner and harder hitting and they live in a surrounding state to those two, list em' anyway.
We would like to get a good list together and hunt them down at Gates of Summer to talk with us for the next episode. We also would like to invite them to a special invitational tourney we've got cookin in the early stages. You'll find out more about that in episode 4 of HSWT.
So let's hear it. Who's top stick that we need to track down? Post em in this thread!
Thanks!

I hear Locutus is amazing, but I've never met him. Martus of Night's Watch Skeith of Mordor Shatterhaze of Mirkwood Me?

Agree with all of Solusar's, and I'd add Crimson of Night's Watch onto that list as well.

Locutus is up there. Always fun to fight. He's already on my "hit list" to talk with. Briefly familiar with Shatterhaze. Really nice guy. I enjoyed playing with him at Okfest and a couple years back at Dag Olympics. Passingly familiar with Skeith. Not familiar with Martus. Where does he/she play? I'd put you on the list Solusar. I've only really met you at Gates a couple of years ago, but you were top teir at Gates if memory serves.
Not familiar with Nights Watch. Sounds like they have two solid fighters at least in someones book. Better add them to the list to check out. Are they primarily Dominion then?
Good start to a list.

Yeah, they're Dominion. They fight in Grandview, MO which is a suburb of KC. Night's Watch has a few other good fighters as well, Luke, Stephen, Grumio. And thank you for the accolade. I didn't want to sound full of myself.

Can't be top stick if you don't sound full of yourself.

You'll want to talk to Peter the Quick. i think he's in Iowa thou.
Not to brag, but Byzantium host a lot of mighty fine swordsmen and spear men. And Arengweth, which is Shatterhaze's honor guard, is probably the top company from here. And not to be a total dick, but I'd put Shatty's squires (Sync and I) as better figthers than him.

Pete is already on the list.
@ducky, my plan was to hit Byzantium opener for that reason! G'damn weather made it a washout for the trip. I do want to talk to you offline about Keep on the Borderlands 2011. We are kicking around some ideas and I wanted your input.
Not interested in doing a top company / unit for episode 4 but it's a great idea that will be covered and has built in interest. For that you need an actual legit venue to cover it. 4 horsemen and 7 man tourneys are not good formats for that.

Arrogance this may be, but I'd like to toss myself and Cyodie Centrawoven onto the list. Solusar could probably give you a better account of if we make the cut or not, but I figured we could toss up on here anyways. Orrin swears up and down I talked drunkenly with you for a few hours a few gates ago, but I can't recall for the life of me. So, refresher and some fighting? Luckily we're in the same general area as Skeith and Solusar

I sloshed over to Byz Opener with Olos, and I'd say Arangweth host the better fighters. Blood Horde look fierce, but their poles are really lacking.

P-Quick isn't all that great. No where near as great as he likes to think he is, at least.

I kill him with my spear lots when he's florentining. He's just an above average florentiner vs. spear XD
