We will be recording part of episode 4 this weekend at the Kingdom of the Rising Winds event in Brazil Indiana. There is always a really good number of Mittlemarch Dag folk at most RW events and so I'll be vetting some of the names from the MO / IL region by reputation just to see who's rep proceeds them.
@ Deamos - I have a favor to ask since I know you better than most of the other fighters who have piped up so far. Take your list and combine it with all of the other names that have been offered to date. Rank em' in order with the best in your opinion at the top of the list and then work down. Also include the names of those you have excluded because you said I already knew them. Assume I don't and rank em' anyway. I don't care if your list is 10, 20, or 100 fighters.
@ Everyone else - After Deamos has posted his list, please re-arrange the list in whatever order you feel is more in line with your own opinions. If theres someone you want to add thats not on the list, add em in.

If this list is all opinion based and you have no way of actually facts for gauging skill. Whats the point?
There's no way you are going to get any accurate list with the way you are approaching things. People get fat, lazy, out of practice, etc. and their reputations preceded them. Also to add leadership experience and characterization boost peoples reputations as well. I know a handful of people in my SCA barony who if they came out to Dagorhir would smoke the majority of people on this list. Does that mean a "noobie" could oust someone of their position?
I'm not trying to be critical; I just think if you want a respectable list he said she said is not the way to go about it. Hope that helps.

Some people care more about fighting then RP.

Some people care more about fighting then RP. Where are you going with this Solusar? I said that RP and social elements add to a fighter's reputation. Thus making him seem like a better fighter than they truly are, which leads to an inaccurate list.

I'd have to agree with Skeith, and I don't think there's much of a way to gauge fighters because almost every fighting scenario is different. If we had more people who sat back and watched/heralds/judges, and more consistent fighting scenarios I think the he said she said aspect would be more reliable but it's not quite like that. We would have to keep an accurate record of kill count/death count and in line with scenarios for each fighter, and I know for a fact people are too lazy to keep one of those for everyone.
It's relatively easy to determine when it comes to one on one fighting, we have tournaments. But field battles are a completely different thing.

Best thing to do is wait and see what the list looks like, then respond as best we can. Of course he said/she said wont be the very best way, but in a game without any other way to measure ranking, that's what we have. As well, when ten people all agree that one person is the top, it tends to make sense.

I think this is more about just getting names to watch. When I gave my list it was based all around on the field and 1v1.

Coolies I can understand the practicality in that. I would for sure say some of the names dropped are good reps for this area's fighters then.
