Brother Greybeard feel free to take anything from the Order of the White Hawk you like. It is a Paladin Knightly Order for Ravenwood but I would imagine I'd take people from other realms if they were really interested. It would be difficult though to complete the necessary requirments with my assistance!
While I have my own Orders of Knights to tend to just know that I hope your knightly order spreads far and wide!
Here are some requirements I posted on the Alterra board for the Order of the White Hawk. These might give you ideas, inspiration or a good lesson in what not to do! ;D
Eru bless you and Adon guide your blade!
To begin into the White Hawks one must first swear allegiance to to The Dreadwood Protectorate and to Be ever Vigilant in all things pertaining to the desired road.
The applicant is then a new boot in Dreadwood company.
As such the applicant must do the following;
Build one blue sword. Applicant must use standard Dreadwood company designs and create an acceptable blade for theirself.
Build one round newboot shield. I provide lightwieght plastic shield core, applicant produces foam and DAP.
10 hours of Dreadwood combat basics and tactics with Eldrin or any other appropriate person/s. Right now I'm the only trainer in Ravenwood for these positions.
When these criteria are met the applicant will enter the Sacred order of the White Hawk.
The applicant will take the following vows:
The applicant has then attained the rank of Initiate. In order for the Initiate to obtain the Rank of Novice the following Requirments are to be met:
20 hours additional combat training
10 hours crafting service(Or 6 Dreadwood Swords and 1 newboot round to be donated to the entire unit ; i.e. all adjoining fighting companies; White Hawks, Dreadwood Army and Crimson Ravens.)
Bracers and greaves constructed under supervision of Eldrin or brought for approval. (Note: All armor designs should be okayed through the head of your order.)
Spear supervised and constructed.
80% on 30 question Dagorhir rules exam.
After these tasks are completed an initiate goes through their Rites and pass on to the more esteemed rank of Novice.
The novice then pursues the following goals in order to obtain the Rank of Acolyte of the White Hawk;
20 hours additional combat training
10 hours crafting service to the realm(or 1 red sword, 1 blue and 1 spear)
Create 1 Dagorhir legal arrow
Construction of pauldrons(must make your own) The head of your order will train you if needed or give you design ideas and help. It is their responsibility.
90% on a 40 question Dagorhir rules exam
Must put together an adequate and functional first aide kit and bring it to all battles and events where present. (Paladins Heal after all, right?)
The Novitiate will then begin their vigil which is a private affair and take additional rites. The novitiate is then an Acolyte of the White Hawk.
If you have any other questions about additional requirements, why the requirements are what they are or anything else, feel free to ask! There are several more ranks to reach Paladin/Knighthood. Its not an easy path and it is most certainly not designed to be "quick". It could take a potential years to gain the honor of Paladinhood or not at all. It wasn't designed to be easy either. It wasn't designed to be soley based on combat. Obtaining the higher ranks of this order require honor, wisdom, experience, responsibilty for the unit and realm and intelligence.
Also this is intended for roleplaying purpose fullfilment only, the vows etc. are not required to be carried out in ones mundane life. I should have to say that as we all realize that its a game but some "extreme" people purposfully mistake things in order to cause problems or just to raise a fuss. These people suck. That is all.
