Alright, since I have to cook for a near herd anyway, I've made it a point to talk to some of the group here about food. So I need to know who is planning what for Gates. If you are planning on cooking, save some money and just pitch in on the food plan that we have going. This is what I've planned with the help of Mystic:
Friday Evening : Homemade chili and hotdogs (for chili dogs, yum) and whatever bags of chips that look decent. Saturday and Sunday Morning: Scrambled Eggs, bacon (or sausage, whichever is going to be easier), bagels and cream cheese and fruit Saturday Lunch: Sandwiches (turkey, ham, bologna for the bratlings, maybe some pepperoni... yum!), chips and fruit Saturday Evening: Brisket (or ribs, not sure yet, whatever looks better at Sam's club really...) corn and potatoes.
If I can track down a camp oven... it'll be baked potatoes.
We're going to be bringing plenty of water, I'm a fanatic about hydration. I might be able to sneak in some caffeine of some sort, if we can get enough people to pitch in on this.
If you want to jump in on this, I'm asking a donation of $10 per person (except for kids, they eat free) and we'll take care of the rest, including cooking it.
Whatcha think Wolves?

if you can't find one nyt you can bbq potatoes on the grill or even baked them in a campfire pit

MREs? BLEH! YUCKY!
And yeah, I'm relenting to wrapping them in foil and surrounding the camp fire with them. It'll be easier and I can put them on at lunch time and they'll be ready at supper...
I cringe to think about a brother eating MREs. I silently wept every night that I knew that Rohen was overseas on deployment eating that stuff. Just ew. Besides, I've already planned for you. *lol*
