After months of fighting in the Pits of Mareen, I won my freedom. My owner, a man by the name of Jahora, presented me with the sword and shield of the man whose death bought me my freedom, a Dothraki whose name I can't remember. But that makes little matter, for soon I was on a ship bound for the Dominion, bent on seeking revenge against the one who sold me. However on the ship I met a man, old and bent. He told me a story, a story about how his life had been ruined by four men. He spent all his time, wealth, and life hunting these men down to make them pay. But when they were all dead, he looked back at his life and saw it a waste. He told me that revenge was worthless, that in the end, we are all dead men and must stand before the Judge in the afterlife.
That night he died, and was cast overboard the next morning. I took his words to heart and came to the realization that the one who betrayed me would face her judgment some day. Once the ship made land fall, I took to wandering the Kingdom seeking Battle and Bloodshed wherever I could, for although I would not seek revenge upon her, I still was the Wargod in flesh, and I hungered for flesh and blood.
One night a man came into my camp. He was of smaller stature than I, and wore a ring fashioned like a skull on his hand. His voice was like the calm before the storm. "My name is Artemis, and I am here to make you an offer." He told me of an army that was steadily growing, an army of the dead and damned. He offered me a place in that army. "Fear not, for in this army of night, this Dark Armor, the living and the dead fight side by side. We shall soon conquer all of our enemies, even those you once called friends."
I looked at him, and said, "I fight under my own symbol, for my own purposes. Your offer my be tempting to some, but not to me"
He stood, and began to walk away, but before he took his leave, He turned his head ever so slightly, and spoke. "I will come again, but next time, I may not be as friendly."
After that visit, I continued on my journey, for this journey is not in search of my old home, but for my new one.
