Kriggud had been wandering the country for many months, trying to rid himself of the madness, trying to sate his bloodlust, but to no avail. He kept killing, lest the madness consume him. He would have continued along this path, but in his travels he heard of a brotherhood, an order so old as to have their true name forgotten in the annals of history. This Order was rumored to be capable of taming mens inner natures. Kriggud decided to seek them out, anything was worth a chance if it would rid him of the madness.
When He arrived at the mountain stronghold of the Order, he was greeted by three men. The eldest stood in the center, flanked by two younger men. "I have come to be rid of this madness, to put my bloodlust to rest."
The elder man looked Kriggud up and down, as if appraising a slave. "You appear to be a man of great rage. Tell me, did that rage bring back your family when you slaughtered their murderers?"
"What!? Don't push me old man. Better than you have met their end at my hands," Kriggud said as he drew his sword from his back scabbard.
"My students could snuff out your life as the wind extinguishes the flame of a candle." With a nod from the elder, the young man on the right leaped at Kriggud with blade braced against his arm. Kriggud sidestepped, and swung with such a fury that would have cleaved through even the toughest armor. But all he struck was air. The man appeared to his left, blade whipping out and slicing Kriggud's shoulder. Kriggud whirled to disembowel the man, but he ducked under Kriggud's blade. "You see? Your rage leaves you open and weak," said the elder, as Kriggud continued to cleave air and dirt in an attempt to cut his assailant. "I could show you how to control this rage, and help you rise to your full potential. But, I do not think that you would listen."
Kriggud stopped, panting and bleeding in a dozen places. "I have traveled far, and have not yet met a man I could not even touch. Teach me this art, help me put to rest this daemon within me."
The elder breathed deeply, and spoke, "I will teach you how to control your rage. I will help you put to rest you cannibalistic spirit. But, should you seek to pervert my teachings, or seek to use only the combat techniques that I will show you," In the blink of an eye, the master had crossed the distance between himself and Kriggud, and placed a blade at the base of Kriggud's jaw, "And I will kill you as easily as I would breathe. Welcome to my academy. My name is Ki'Tai. And now, we commence your training."
