Kriggud had only barely begun his training at the academy when word reached him of a travesty that involved his brother. Not much has been recorded about Kriggud's family, but what is known, is that he has no living blood relations. However, he has a brother by combat, and by lifedebt. This man kept Kriggud alive at a time when the madness had almost consumed him. Kriggud owed his life to this man, so it enraged him greatly to hear of his seduction at the hands of Disraeli, Mehran, or whatever the wench was calling herself these days.
Kriggud stormed into the elder's chamber, froth coming from his mouth as he began to speak with Ki'Tai. "She has gone too far, Elder."
"What makes you say this, Kriggud? She betrayed you after pretending to love you, and you can look beyond that. She sold you to slavers, but yet you can forgive that transgression as well. Why can you not overlook this matter? Have you learned nothing? Will you not seek the flame and the void?"
The flame and the void was a meditation technique used by the elder, whereby one visualized all their anger, frustration, and rage, and then let them be consumed in a cleansing fire. When all was burned, there was only the void, in which a man could find peace.
"I have sought the flame, and this act cannot be consumed by its fires. She can do whatever she likes to me, for my life is forfeit. I am doomed to die in battle and blood, so it matters not how I reach that end. But she has trifled with my family. It is time to show this little spider that her web is made of naught but dust and deceit. I swear to you, Elder, she will rue the day that she made an enemy of me. I will not rest until all her world is ash, until all her evil is washed from this earth."
"You call her evil, in light of the things you have done? You think that you are pure, in your 'righteous' quest to rid the world of her filth? What makes you think you have the right?"said Ki'Tai.
"Sometimes, it takes evil to purge evil. After all what is rage, but a fire that consumes everything it touches. And yet I use the flame to consume my rage, and leave nothing but the void. So too will her evil be purged from this earth, by the flames of my rage." Kriggud turned and stormed out of the fortress, longsword on his back, beginning his trek down the mountain. Once he reached the foothills, Then the hunt would begin. He gave one final glance over his shoulder to the fortress, the one place where he had tried to calm his inner demons. As he turned his head round, he realized that his demons were never meant to be calmed, that his rage would be a tool to eradicate his enemies. And now that he knew how to control it, Kriggud would be a much more formidable foe.
"Make ready your pyre, Disraeli, for soon you shall burn."
