Ever heard of 3 in 1? That's what my hauberk's made out of, 14 guage galvanized steel, 3/8" diameter. Instructions for the 3 in 1 weave came from a place called Derakon's Library, which had a PLETHORA of instructions, but has since been taken down. The fun part about 3 in 1 is if you make a sheet and hold it up by one corner, it curls in on itself. There was no pattern to speak of to piece everything together into armor--I was flying by the seat of my pants on that one. The only disadvantage I've seen to it is it needs more maintenance. Because there aren't 4 rings to hold the weight like the European 4 in 1 that dominates the field, each ring is stressed a little bit more, and I do recognize that I replace and readjust rings here and there more often than my friends with 4 in 1. The other great part (besides being 1/4 lighter) is it's a bit harder to tell the difference in weave at a glance, so to truly appreciate it, interested parties have to look at it for a while, see what the details actually tell them. The kind of perk elves appreciate--finer attention to detail. The bracers are a pair I bought from Ren Faire, reinforced with two layers of jacket leather to make legal. Gorgeous stamp, wish the company hadn't gone out of business.

his is what's left of my soon-to-be-old kit. Very... Goblin scrap-esque. Leather helm 12-16 oz, needs final coat of paint, possibly for sale.

How much you thinkin' you're gonna ask for the helm? I always liked that design and I'm slightly too lazy to make my own just now, so I'm definitely interested.

Well there's still a bit of work I want to do to it. Another coat of dye to the forhead and cheeks. Resew some spots and such. Touch up the paint on the symbols and ACTUALLY tool the Eye into the spot where I have it painted. But after all is said and done $300 american sounds about right jk, I am thinking around 30 or so. Maybe we can duel a bit and i might alter the price Since you are AoM, it makes me feel better that I would sell it to someone whose allegience is with Mordor. Because of the markings and all. Hope you are into or at least know of the Chaos gods because the helm is kind of covered in thier symbols. And one of my conditions for selling it is you cant repaint it

I wouldn't dream of repainting a work like that. I got to see it close up at Rag XXII and was in love with the design. Ever since I saw your helm and Squck's I've been of the mind that I'd either make one like it or buy one one day. And I would be honored to wear something that belonged to an esteemed AoM Member such as yourself. And of course, I'm always up for a duel, so yeah, I'll fight you a bit so you can see how you feel about it. If you're going to gates then we can do this there if you're satisfied with it and want to sell it.
