Name: Mehran
Age: 22, non-aging
Aliases: Red Witch, Witch of the Hagen Woods, Mehran Khan, Mehran Pharys, Mehran S'Disraeli, Phen
Race: Wildling
Location: Hagen Woods, near Dominion of the Unconquered Sun
Origin: North-of-the Wall, Dominion of the Unconquered Sun
History: As an infant, the red-head was abandoned in the Wildling lands. Her father, a great man by the name of Phenrys took her in, and her mother raised her according to Wildling ways. Mehran left in her early adolescence and stole south of the Wall to seek her education. When she arrived at King's Landing, she found nothing but consternation for common-born girls who seek knowledge. She took on a new identity--Phen Storm, a bright young lad with a lust for learning. As Phen, ahe learned the arts of storytelling, as well as how to read and write. And while in hiding, she learned the art of the quick-change and con artistry. After she had her fill, she returned North, where she found that in her five year absence, her mother had died, and her brother left. Her father was a broken man, and while still highly respected in their village, was nothing but a shadow of the king he was.
One day, rangers from the wall came and visited her peaceful village. Skeith and Kriggud, later joined by the white wraith Arc, destroyed her village. And Kriggud, a vile cannibal, killed her father. He later told he that she was lucky he didn't tuck in and feast as well. Since that day, Mehran has been out to murder Kriggud in any way possible. Posing once again as Phen, she was shanghaied to the Wall, after having been caught following and plotting the murders of Skeith and Kriggud. Once there, however, she was exposed as a female and sent away, much to her pleasure. She followed her heart and went south of the Wall again.
While walking through deep and shady woods one day, she came across a meeting of a secret society. It was known to many, but talked about by few. She was kidnapped and threatened, but an old man saw her talent for storytelling and brought her up in the ways of the Harem of Irye. When her day came, she challenged the old Mistress and acceded to the rank of the ruler. The rank has always been fulfilled by a female. Mehran displaced the older woman in wits, battle-skill, and knowledge and became the Khan of the Court.
Since that day, Mehran brought her Court up from ashes, named a new lieutenant, brought several acolytes into the folds, and still managed to be a whisper in the ears of leaders. During her quest for knowledge and power, she grew discomfited by her lack of personal magic. Her aides and lieutenants all had some form of extra sense, and she herself was found lacking. After several missions to the Eastern shores of the Dothraki, she found many artifacts to help her gain the power she so desired. As she read a set of scrolls that were supposed to give her all she asked for, the unthinkable happened. She was possessed by a most ancient demoness, Disraeli, Princess of Chaos.
The scrolls had been enchanted to lock the demoness inside of them, hiding her away from the world and sealing her power. As Mehran read the words, sometimes repeating them aloud, she released the chaotic curse upon herself. Disraeli came to be known by Mehran's visage, causing destruction and chaos wherever she went. For a time, Mehran's Court of Miracles became focused on the assassination aspect of business more than the knowledge and spidering because of Disraeli's influence. When Mehran began to lose her own body more often than control it, she as far as she could for help.
Arriving in Ravenwood, she found Eldrin the Black and the Elven Queen Ilyia more than willing to assist her. Eldrin, after much counsel and preparation, exorcised the chaos demoness, casting the shade of Disraeli into the wilderness to suffer and wail. Mehran was then taught the magic of the elves, in order to prevent any more questing for her own powers. They taught her how to protect herself against almost anything in her path, as well as encourage positivity in her world around her. They hoped she would be able to fend against Disraeli should the essence become vengeful and attempt to indwell Mehran again. The elves succeeded in this; Mehran is one of the most powerful witches in Dominion. Thanks both to her willingness to learn as well as the elves patient teachings, Mehran became the Red Witch.
Mehran left Ravenwood after she made her bonds and connections, and went back north to settle in Dominion. She had always known of the hidden forest in the east of Dominion that was hardly claimed by any territory simply because of the dangerous beasts inside, the mriswith. The elves, however, had taught her how to defend against the wicked wizards, and she blazed a trail for the forest. As she put up her cottage, she neutralized many of the factors that would get her attacked in the woods. Raising wards and charms to send away the mriswith, she attracted the attention of the oppressed races of the woods; faeries began to dance a circle around the little cottage, and the local centaurs would loose their arrows from dark, hidden places in the surrounding forest when they spotted her in trouble. As the Red Witch continued to tame the mriswith, the faery ring around the cottage expanded until her entire yard was ensconced. As a result, the only time Mehran ages is when she steps out of the safety of her front fence.
Mehran the Red Witch resides in the woods, with an enchanted mailbox to stay connected to the outside world. Due to her interactions with Disraeli, she now prefers quiet solitude to her once gregarious surroundings, and rarely leaves her forest. She lives in the company of faeries, studying her magic. Occasionally, she thwarts a traveller from entering her territory, but her interactions with humans are rare.
Appearance: Red hair, gold eyes, and a pert nose are the defining aspects of the wildling witch woman. Her trials with the Demoness Disraeli have left her thin and limber of limb; she became thinner as the curse on her soul grew stronger. She often dresses in the red robes, corsets or skirts of her trade and rank, as well as several necklaces blessed to keep her safety. Mehran can occasionally be found mingling in the audience with a few individuals. Despite her new-found solitude, she maintains a taste for repartee with nobility.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Mehran can boast good conversational skills, story-telling, and of course, magic. She's not a strong combatant, but her bow always shoots true.
Weapons Style:
Primary -- archery
Secondary -- sword and board
Tertiary -- Spear/polearm
Alignment: Was once true neutral, is now chaotic good.
