(This exact thread is also on the Night's Watch forum) In my spare time I have been able to work on a few things to really make our campsite look period this year at Gates. I was looking through some of the art on the Night's Watch site for some ideas and I came across one that kinda stuck out to me. I had a bunch of torn and old garb, a fake spear and shield and some burlap laying around the house. I was thinking about making 1-3 of these scarecrow Watchmen that we could place at or near the front entrance into our camp. I was thinking along the story lines (as I think with the picture): The Watchmen, with their numbers low, resorted to scarecrows to fool their enemies into thinking their force was much larger than it was. Base-in-point, I want to stick this up on the forum and see what people think. Obviously anyone who is strongly opposed to the idea will be grounds just to not do it. Other than that I want to see what everyone thinks. I think it will really help with the whole look of the site. I can probably have one done and out to the site by next campsite cleanup. Discuss-

I like the ideia we could also come up with something for the wall and maybe get some more teki tourches for light. Already ahead of you there . Last time I was out for camp site cleanup I noticed in our site alone their were several dozen vines that were either already on the ground or hanging in parts of the camp that would serve as either hanging or tripping hazards. I tested the strength and resilience of these vines and they were surprisingly strong. My plan is to take the ones that have fallen or need to be removed from our camp and weave them into a fence about 8-10' long in front of our campsite. Obviously it wouldn't be a great representation of an "ice wall" but my visual of Raven's Keep for our events has been a home-away-from-home. Like the hotel that away football team stays at when their in town for a game. Best thing to describe it as it an outpost. Anyways, I would have one set up on either side of the entrance to the site and maybe jazz it up with some fake ravens if I can find them. I also though about signs around the site proclaiming where our "territory" is. Just to let others who take one of the random paths that lead to our camp know where you go from being in the common ground to NW ground. Tiki torches are great. I've been working with rod iron and candles to see how that would work. I've been fortunate enough to be able to tinker with some ideas.

Bleh, I wont be able to make the camp site cleanup until later in the evening on Saturday due to the addition of a new Saturday morning class. I will try to be out there after 3PM and see how much I can do and contribute.
