so this is my first potential thread starting thing i would like to do, two more shall pop up soon enough, and i wanted to just voice a concern that i have with coreless punch shields, and it is thus;
Could extended us of a punch shield to block my, or any other hard kicking person, shield kicks result in a injury?
And if so is there any way to solve this problem, a technique when blocking sheild kicks with a punch or a way to make it to where the whole force of the kick doesn't go into your wrist/hand?
because i would feel terrible if i sheild kicked someone and broke their wrist or caused damage to it.

When kicking any ones shield it is much more affective to "kick" the bottom corner of someones shield to create an opening. If doing this against a punch shield user it really shouldn't be a problem. I've been using a punch shield for almost 2 years now and I don't think I've had my shield kicked more than once or twice.

It's difficult to really comment on it, for me. I've seen some incredibly flimsy punch shields, and I've also seen very sturdy punch shields. I'm fairly certain if I went all out and tried to like super kick Crimson's shield into his sternum ( ) that with the way his shield is constructed, along with what it's constructed of that I'd likely do very little, if any, damage to his hand or wrist. Taller punch shields tend to have higher hand grips, where most people don't connect on a kick. (Very few could theoretically not only kick that high without leaving their feet, but also be effective by any means in doing so) I'm a pretty avid shield kicker, so take it for what it's worth. I've seen a few circular punch shields that have grips in the center. These tend to be held at a higher angle and kicking them when they're being held above the waist is just downright dangerous. Way too much of a chance to accidentally kick -them-. I think overall there's not much of a risk involved as long as it's being wielded properly. If they're holding it at a funky angle, their hands are slipping off the handle and they have a funky grip.. stuff like that I'd see being the culprit to an injury before a simple shield kick... and in those cases, it'd be more of a freak accident than any one persons negligence in particular. Hope this helps love!

My comrade in arms Deamos uses a punch alot, and I kick shields alot. He has never had a problem with injury and I probably kick harder than most of the people on an event field. And yes, he does often move it and it is frustrating. Be careful when moving it though, Deamos has gotten many a foot in the chest because he'll move his shield to the side but still move forward with his body. Still seems to work for him though.

Yeah I know I've been kicked in the chest or groin way more times using my strap compared to my punch. I think people tend to be a little harder on strap shields than punch shields. With a punch you have a better ability or control and movement so you tend to avoid the issue of being kicked.
On a side note: I don't know why I never realized this but GLORY TO KHORNE, DOWN WITH SLAANESH!

You may tend to do so with a punch, but somehow Deamos doesn't ;D I give him a hard time but he's awesomes. He may seem half-retarded at times but for anyone who doesn't know he's got mad squabble skills and he'll own your butt.

With my sheild, i use my knee as a second bracing point. that way only half the force is directed at my hand/wrist, alothough, i only get kicked by a few people, and last time i kicked a shiled, they moved it and ended up with my boot-print across their face (on the ground).
So Thats my trick, using the Knee as a fulcrum point... hope that makes sense, and helps a little.

I would be more conserned with people trying to kick bucklers, besides punch shilds have a lot more give so you can't realy do a full force kick because the punch shield will cause your opponent to become unbalanced because of the shield's tendancy to move when force is applied to it.
