Whats the rule on minimum stricking surface length? the rules on the dag. websight say 12 in. for sword. does that cover all weapons other than flails? please post only information from sanctioned rules and not your personal thoughts and opinions. also please document where you got the information.

First off, the national site rules are out of date by several Ragnaroks. The most up to date MoA is listed: www.digitalbonsai.com/dagrules-draft/Take from that what you will. If you make a mace, axe, -insert anything not designated as a sword here-, then the only true minimum to adhere to is that there must be at least 1/3" of the weapon adequately padded, which also includes courtesy padding. Bear in mind, everything would still fall under the following: Meaning, if someone on the field saw said weapon and decided that it was unsafe (could be a weapons issue, could be a person not used to fighting with such a small striking surface issue, etc) then they reserve the right to fail it and remove it from the field.
