I has idea for stopper if anyone is still checking this. you can put the stopper in a piece of old cloth that's big enough to cover it and wrap a piece of string or thin rope around the top so you can't see it.

A craft store would have suitable fur or fur like material to hide the piping around the edges. While it would not be as convenient, you could remove the plastic pull spout and insert a proper sized cork in the opening. Attaching it with a string would be helpful. As far as the icon goes ink in some artwork.

Again, seriously, except for the stamp on the leather, the generic bota looks perfectly period because they've been making them that way for hundreds of years. The only difference is that now they put a mundane stamp on the leather, use plastic instead of horn for the stopper, and line the inside with plastic (and that's only on the cheap models). So obscure the stamp, and you're good to go.
