Hey boys and girls. I know its just the first day after War, but i figured i'd start it off. (Once proper boards and places have been set up, i figure this will get moved)
Id first like to say it was awesome to see all of you show an interest in helping Dominion make Gates and War better. Im glad Fafnir is taking the lead, and that everyone was willing to volunteer for battles, security, and tourneys. I think together we can easily promote this event into "THE" national event behind Ragnarok.
Id then also like to say that while the council is a great forum for us to express our concerns and wants for us as a whole, most of what was said about that are things that should be done on a personal level, not by the action of the council. War Council is for helping to run events, and i think that should be the objective of that council
My main case in point is with Belegarth and the idea that we should start changing rules to be more friendly to them. Changing rules from the Dagorhir National Standard is not something we should do because we want to be more attractive to Bele. Its something we should do cause we don't like that rule, or as the Midwest we have found something better.
Other than that, it was a great council and i can't wait till i see you all at Gates.

My only concern to that, is that if we start to amend the rules towards other games... we can't "technically" advertise Gates and War as 'Dagorhir' events in the future.
It's part of the Chapter contract - and I'd hate to see someone get upset about a 'Dagorhir' event using other games rules, and then who knows what happens.
It's not that I don't like that idea (because tiered grappling sounds cool - and the weapons differences aren't that much imo) but I'd hate to see Dominion, or all involved parties have their Chapter contracts revoked or something crazy like that.

I could be wrong, but I believe that whoever brought up the idea of meshing dagorhir and belegarth rules for an event didn't intend for that to be changes to Gates or War (which, in my opinion, I'd prefer our dagorhir events to stay dagorhir). The impression I got was the idea of a totally separate event from gates/war designed to be both dagorhir and belegarth friendly as far as rules go, which I'd totally be down for. I've only been to one belegarth event before but it was a blast ;D

Ashalind is 100% correct. This is one of the things we asked to be brought up in our absence, as we were not able to be there due to an ER visit.

I wasn't saying we should either. That was something that was mentioned thou, and i thought it important to bring up, and then put my two cents in against it.
I am down for having a big crossover event. I don't think it should be Gates or War.
Back to things that were decided and are on topic of running Gates and War better. Fafnir is in charge, Nox is running Battles, Dominion wanted Troll? and someone took security. (If someone knows, please post it.) Byzantium is willing to run tourney's again, thou we didn't get the official yet.
Is there anything else that was brought up in respect to running Gates?

Sir Logan Moore of Lyonesse is co chair under Sir Fafnir. Lyonesse is running weapons check. From what Fafnir told me Nox is Head Herald. And he told me a list of people running battle for Friday, I am sure he can post them here. As well I have asked him to personally run battles on Saturday, again Sir Fafnir can confirm that too.

Igit/Myself will be Head Medic Orrin and Igit will be handling Dry Camp(ing) VVS and "Southern Missouri" will be handling battles on Friday Orrin and the Fallen Clan will be doing Security
That is all I have at this time. I know "Dominion" was going to handle troll again but I don't believe anyone has stepped up as of yet to put themselves as head of it.
Ducky, I'd be more than happy to have Byzantium run tournaments again. It seemed like it went well this time from my position (IE arriving late and running around like an idiot for the few hours I was present).
Anyone else who is interested in helping out please feel free to PM me here or on FB.

Sorry Percival, I forgot to confirm that Nox is head herald and you are currently set to be running battles on Saturday.

sweet. glad to know you all liked the medals. I will make sure to pass it on to Shatterhaze. Lessons were learned and i can guarantee that tourneys will be even better next time.
Is there any other positions that still need to be filled?

The only thing I heard bad about the tournaments was that they were single elimination. I thought they were heralded well and went very good. The dagger tourney was run well, as its hard to see those hits in the melee, having at least 3 heralds on it was great.

I agree, loved the amount of heralds we had for the tourneys. A 2/3 elimination would have been nice but people don't factor in the number of heralds at disposal and time constraints.
I think the tourneys wrapped up at perfect time for the wedding.
Something that might help tourneys run smoother would be the times they are held. Sadly the main time blocks are reserved for campaign battles.
Also I don't think we can currently provided full satisfaction for tourney goers at this time but we could get pretty close. The issues I heard most commonly (which were in few) were one round eliminations, time of day the tourneys were held and the small showing for combatants for tourneys.
All common issues in any typical tournament I've seen.
To add, those badges Byzantium made as prizes ruled. I think many people would be excited to see a new batch next year.
I'm sure you guys will continue to do a good job. I'm going to talk to my Army of Mordor division and see if there's anything we might want to help out with at the next event.

Not trying to advertise... but uh.. well Dark Tides already takes the Belegarth grappling rules. So we do try to do some combining there, but that's something I'd spoken with Eldrin on.
