I am making weapon only for weapon, just to be used on a post never on another fighter. It is going to heavier than a weapon I would fight with. Now i can do that in 2 ways. Balance the heavy weapon or I can put a little more weight in the head.
So what would you do? and the benefit of that way?

Buy a SCA rattan stick and basket. Using this on a pell will improve anything you are trying to get out of a weighted Dagorhir weapon and more. It is balanced accordingly and will provided the strength training I presume you are looking for. Here's an ARMA article if you want to read more about pell work. www.thearma.org/essays/pells.htmThats the one difference I see in Dagorhir compared to hard combat. In hard combat you must practice your shots. If not they will be executed incorrectly promoting bad form and injury. Compared to boffer where shot projectory is good but many just consider weekly meets their sword practice.

IF you want to learn mechanics a heavy object will do. For pell work in my opinion theres no point of training with an object that is not similar to the weapon you use.
