Hey everyone, I'm Sun Tzu from the Minions of Choas. Long story short, I've drawn up plans for seige weapons! (again, first time I showed, I asked aout seige, and then I went on a run to draw up plans for these) first is a rip off of the Balista, flickeringpictures.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/ballista.jpg , It's a bit of a complex buid but it would be leathal on the battlefeild. Next is the Chinese twin hooks (kind of sword) www.gungfu.com/pics_info_pages/swords_chinese_twin_hook.jpg , The back end we use a daggers, the back of the swords would be like normal swords, the hooks cou;d be used to grab sheilds, and the cresents are used to block. No on to the questions. First: Can anyone tell me a good place to get armor? Second: With the twin hooks, Voodoo told me about the hook issue, but all ya got to do is make the hooks 'sheild grab' only (and/or arm and leg shots) Theird: Is there a rule where there is anything about something about the Cestius? (Roman spiked glove, not shure if that's the corect spelling, but it's pronounced Cest.us) Fourth: Any good ideas on how to build a basket hilt Claymore?

1. On the hook swords: one of the problems is that they are a swung weapon and therefore have the potential of hooking someone's neck. May not be intentionally but accidents do happen. I would probably fail them do to safety concerns. Also, pommels are a NON-STRIKING surface, same with recreating the crescent portion of the handle. You can make it a punch block but not a striking surface. 2. Punching weapons are NOT allowed in Dagorhir. Common sense. 3. For good armor ask the people in your realm/unit. Some of them may be able to make you reasonable priced custom armor. Same for the basket hilt. I know AoM has some good armor/foamsmiths.
I would also recommend reading the MoA, it could probably answer any other questions you might have.

Actually, technically speaking the only punch weapons that are expressly forbidden are punch daggers.
That said, I've never seen any other method of punching weapon pass through any weapons check I've ever seen. Not to say it can't happen... but I doubt it.
On the topic of the hook swords, Pantar has the right of it. The back-end daggers would fail. Butt-spikes (on swords or spears) are inherently illegal.
Basket hilts, I'd check the national forums for some potential tutorials, or check with some local guys. I know some make due with only blue foam, while others are more complex in their hilt designs.
