So there has been some buzz about a feast and the regional powers will probably sit down and talk about it sooner than later. So with that is mind, i made this poll so those in charge can keeps this info in mind when they make these decisions.
thanks Percival

I can agree with all those choices. Hence the seconding. I like the idea of all pitching in. It takes the financial stress off of just one realm.

So what would be top amount for a ticket you would pay before anything over that amount you would not go? Me, I would say over $30 and it would not be feasible
There is really nice mansions and castles here but they are freaking expensive *pouts* How cool would that be? A feast in a freaking castle *medieval fan girl swoon*

A feast in a freaking castle *medieval fan girl swoon* You are so right Faraday. 2 years ogo I was looking in to a nice castle Like place in Shawnee. they qouted me $340, not too bad right. them i heard right that was a per hour price, min 6 and that was berfore food. So they can get pretty bad.I wish the Davis hall was 2 x bigger. Thats where the KCD 02 and 03 feast where. Just to give anyone a idea who wants to help me look for places. I looked up the davis hall and they say the hold 150. I agree with Faraday it would be too small, even if they say 150 max. So if your looking look for room for 200 and kitchen. IF we are realy lucky and we give alot of time and get both Ravenwood and Alterra involved, the most optmistic guess is 125 to 130. But since we are thinking pot luck and so for everyone is picking make it cheap and either way on drinking, I hope to have the ticket way under $30. I have some other ideas to help drive down the price. I hope we get this thing off the gtound, with the intrest out there i think it migh fly.

Pot luck makes it more possible to do this.. but I dunno. Part of me feels like, if we're gonna do a feast I want period-ness. The term 'pot luck' makes me think Ruffles, Rotel dip, and hot dogs. If we could ensure that pot luck foodstuffs were of a period nature - then rock on. I'd be down with this like a -insert something vulgar I just thought of here-

I think we need to get an idea of how many people are intersted and how much everyone is wanting to pay. That will give us a better idea of a budget.
And I dunno, I personally would be willing to pay a litte more and have it catered. If we do a feast, I agree with Krystal, I don't want it to feel like a barbeque at the community center.

I have TONS of medieval cooking links, recipes... etc. I'd be more than happy to be the information hub for everyone. Even if we don't all have period feast ware (beggars cant be choosers I suppose.. *wistful sigh*) at least having a period menu would make me feel better about endorsing this.
I've been cleaning/packing and recently found my original feast plans/paperwork and stuff I'd figured up and ran around in my head. I'll re-write it a little neater and bring it to battle on Sunday. Maybe we can mull the idea around and propose it at the next council meeting (aka Sunday)?

I can't agree anymore with Krystal. I like the feel of a pot luck setting the tone of the event. All the Midwest realms come to together to celebrate and have a grea midevil meal. I wanna see what everone wis goning to brigng. But yes the pucket of KFC and the tray of oreos just kill the feeling.
Lets talk a little bit of #'s here, There are all realy rough but Percival has done a little homework. I found a place big enouph and has a kitchen and we would have all day. If 70 people came it would cost $10 per non drinker and $12 per drinker, before food.
There is a lot of room to go from there. It might cost $25 (total) to cater. Or we go half way. say $15 per non drinker and 18 per drinker and apps side and desert inculded, Meat is Potluck. It is hard not get non period meat as long a you serve it the right way and something period, your good.
There is just some of my ideas

Heya Krystal, Is there any way you could make a post in the garb and gear section with a few of those links? Would be awesome for people to have somewhere to referance. And My wify wants a few ideas. Ofcourse, you can keep a few secret, always better to have tricks up your sleeve.

Absolutely Orrin ^-^ It's just some stuff I found while originally hunting down my feast ideas. I'll get to that here in a bits. As far as #s Percival. My data sheet I wrote out estimated on most the consistent members of our realm. Plus you also have to account for non-com attendees (wives/girlfriends of fighters, children, etc) I think I counted 40 just off the top of my head (and not including MANY more, if I actually busted out the pad and paper and wrote down everyone who isn't associated with Dominion who might come (Skeith, Soulsar, etc) PLUS all the other regional realms that are now here and interested. Give me a few days, this weekend I can rub elbows with people and see what kind of interest we have. I just bought a 5 pack of 1 subject notebooks for 50 cents from Target. I'm itching to write stuff down But, first thing we'd need to do is set a date, so we know what kind of scheduling conflicts we might encounter. The sooner people have a date to set aside, the larger the numbers we get.

It'd rock to have it medieval. I'd most def make it then. I'm sure I could come up with the money(like no doubt bout it). When we say drinker, do we mean 21 and up?

drinker has to be 21 and want to drink. It cost $ to have the security to have driniking. I for one will pay the $2

Hey Krystal.. it would be awesome to pick a date, but unfortunately, that hinges on where we have it as to when we can rent it... which hinges on how many people. First I think we need to get a vague idea of time.. someone said winter(which is gonna hit attendance... hard) So what? November/December time? We wanna make sure not January as then we have shitty weather to deal with. So vague idea of "winter"
But, as with any good event, ya start at guestlists. Just like I'm trying to convince Iceis of for her wedding... Guestlist.. guestlist...guestlist..
PS: Teshy wants to help too.. I smell a meeting!
