so i unpacked my coif finally from war and found it was an asom shade of rust orange...
what would probaly be the best way for polishing it, and oiling it...

*probally a bucket of sand and shaking it. Also WD-40 maybe?

Soak it in WD-40 for a few weeks then pull it out and steel wool the crap out of it(SOS pad works good but regular steelt wool works best, no blue soap). This is the best way to do it. Soak it for about 2-3 weeks at least. I used to have chain, I know this works.
You can do the sand thing but it never worked well for me.

a paint mixing machine could shake it all day...if it is one that shakes instead of stirs I'd think you'd want it shaken and not stirred

Add one part oil to about 20 parts sand. Put it all in a nice, large bucket. Add the armor and give it a good shake. Then, set about 6 pages with the task of using it as a medieval-style soccer ball in a parking lot. Either that... or make them barrel roll it down a hill.
