I posted this on the Haven boards, but I thought I would share it here in case anyone is interested. Also, as a side note, all Dreadwood Company weapon and shield designs are completely open knowledge to anyone. If you are ever curious about any of our equipment, or how to make it, let me know! I'll tell you everything you want to know. I just started a new topic about this. I have completed and tested the following Dreadwood Company designs; Dread Raven Newboot's Buckler and Dread Raven Huntsman's Buckler The exact designs are free to anyone interested. I won't post the gritty details here, but PM and I'll share them with exact, easy to use and understand steps. Newboot's buckler is on the left and the Huntsman's Buckler is on the right. The Newboot's buckler is; 12" tall 18" across 2" thick 15.2 ounces core-less blue camp pad The Huntsman's Buckler is; A Dreadwood Hex 20" across 22" Tall 1.25" thick 24 ounces Semi-cored design (Partially Polyurethane and a 14"x10" piece of medium density plastic in the middle to cut down taco) Here are some pics Newboot Buckler Huntsman's Buckler Questions or Comments, let me know!!!! I'll do my best to answer.

Oh! And they are both pretty darn cheap to build. You don't have to look for any exotic materials or anything. The bucklers are nothing spectacular, but a soldier's equipment is not meant to be spectacular, the soldier is meant to be spectacular. A Soldier's gear is meant to be durable, cheap, functional, and easy to upkeep/reproduce.
