The burden I carry I carry alone,my cross to bear as heavy as stone.
My life is frought with venomous sin it poisons my soul from without and within.
The world I see I cannot abide, I can do nothing but cower and hide, but there at the end I see a great light, a beacon of truth of hope and of might.
I call to my father there above and ask him now to show me his love.
He turns to me and from on high I hear his voice and I start to cry
Here he says to me, my love for you is great I love you most but designed your fate.
You are salvation the hope of all, you must forgive them before your fall,
;D

The angel of Mourning
Feathers gently falling, soon caressing the ground
The dawn is calling, the mourning trumpeter soon to sound
"Your smile is so heartfelt"
That's what you said
As beside me you knelt
And gently held my head
The sunrise seemed to shine from her face
Which no shroud of darkness could erase
No heavenly host replace nor deepest night encase
"Your poor broken wing"
She said, then she cried
Hope she did bring
By never leaving my side
On the wind she'd ridden, to tell me I was hers
Soon I saw the hidden, the truth that love cures
Silence to my soul (I said with absolute control)
Surely you can see
This life has taken its toll
And then I made my final decree
I have finally reached my goal
Silence you have brought to me
I am now forever free!

Tody I die I know it now I need not say the why or how.
My soul sinks deep just as a blade, I find myself unafraid.
And in the light I hear a voice, and I begin to rejoice.
I see my father, mother and brother, but to them I seem another.
The call is stong but I must deny the urge to lift up and to fly.
I know not why or how, but I feel my body now.
Returned to life, I hear them now the hounds of war all around.

"War it tis'", she said with a smile, "But it twil last for only awhile"!
She reached out her hand to the one on the ground, "For where there is death hope can also be found".
The pain shot up her arm as his hand she did clasp and in unutterable agony she let out a gasp!
Tightly she held on, time seemed to stand still, The two stood as statues joining into one will!
The light seemed to dim and a light like a gate Opened before them but she told him, "Wait"!
"It is not yet your time hold on longer yet"! The agony was intense, he began to forget;
He forgot what was good, forgot what was right. His soul journeyed deep, into the dark night.
And then back he was like a clap of thunder His soul from his body, had never been asunder!
He looked at his body as if it were whole and anew! "I swear to stand by you and always be true!"
He said to the girl who had stood by his side, "If it weren't for you, I think I'd have died"!

Actually I only wrote it on the spur of a moment so I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. It's more just to show the battle between hope and despair with hope winning out in this one, although that isn't always the case.

The many scars he wears in ribbons and bars across his chest with hue.
For all of those who fell in droves to save the precious few.
He laments the men who perished in sin, and will not walk this earth again.
He says a silentprayer for all of those who are no longer there.

Ilyia really like this so...
The fox and the Grove
T.A. Rosenbaum
The field glitter’d Golds, unfettered greens, hidden browns between Though I was loath to disturb that swaying hoard That fire’y opulence, earth forged bounteous sheen The wind tittered Out of the reverie right then, the breeze somehow roar’d
I set out then To emerald castle I had sought Quickly it went, for the treasury sea Loosed its grip on me Like a pinioned bird set free, No longer was I caught Then the wind was still
I reach’d the rising trees The melody of life, was become a symphony And as I pass’d those wooden gates My heart rang fierce in harmony The underbrush then flitt’d! My heart was still, my mind racing dread fates!
The fox stood strang’ly there N’er such rich brown eyes Ever had I seen So unlike mine, no hint of whys Just knowing and serene Long we stood breathless in wooden grove fair
N’er did that russet beast skitter Nor did a hint of fear Ever enter its eye Just then I could almost hear Some faint voice whispering, “goodbye” As if my ears did lie
Leaving then and returning no more to me Vanished was the fox Once where it had stood Only rus’ling stalks But shaken to the depth, I waited unto the eve Wind tussling my locks For it took long before I could believe What those deep eyes, comforted inside and then my heart made free!

Today you die, to rise again, A feast tonight, for those who win, Tomorrow we shall meet again, And still, I will win.

LOVE SONG
Ai jhyli si, my love, ai jhyli si! Receive my heart from the hands of the kyr. Safeguard and protect it for it's strenght is also it's frailty. The jhyli within it will belong always to you but first to Kyr. I will stand beside thee, rejoice with, mourn with, fight and die for thee. Ai jhyli si, my love, ai jhyli si!
Andrea C. Roush (Ilyia Wyst Shadowsbane)
*ai jhyli si-elvish for "I love thee" kyr-elvish for "god(s)"

Out of doubt, out of darkness, to the day's rising, I come singing in the sun, sword unsheathing, Now for ruin, now for wrath and a red nightfall.
