"Kang (forkbeard) don't you have plenty of weapons being a vet of Bele? " Who is this Fork? Beard? you speak of? These word are strange to me. Thank you all very much for the low down. I really feel I now know what to expect from weapon check. I'm now making a couple swords from Edhellen foam and my own cores(fiberglass). I'll make sure they are above the min. specs. K

Maybe, it was originally for sword-breaker. i could probably be commissioned to make another for you. Of course, I have no more foam so it could be hard to make it right now. LOL ;D

Kitespar is for cheaters and women with bad wrists. And it beaks. I've broken every kitespar sword I ever used for more than 2 fights. K

I don't mind using pvc for short blues, but anything longer I don't like it at all. I made a red with 3/4 in. pvc and a few people in my unit like it but red's that flex are not my style. At least for reds with a straight blade. Unfortunately the only rigid core that works is bamboo. A good one is extremely hard to find because Hobby Lobby stocks very little and 90% of what they stock is garbage. It also takes a bit more care to make a blade that will pass the humanity test.

So, you're saying I'm a cheating woman with weak wrists? ;D I know it's light, but just making a light weapon doesn't make someone a cheater, it just makes them...progressive? Heavy weapons are great, but wielding anything that weighs in at 5 pounds is going to be a bit much after a while. Sure, you get used to it, but unless you've got serious drive to use it you'll probably just let it go to opt for something at a more managable weight.

K Welcome to Amtgard. lol I think as long as a weapon makes it's minim weights it's fine. Everyone looks at Dagorhir through the historical inclined ideas. Yes this is a sword fighting based sport but the rules and warfare are different. Not everything you do is going to apply the same in real fighting. Thus you must treat the game like it is, a game. In a world where leather armor is just as sturdy as plate. Smashing your own back with your flail is accepted. And an army of gimps can defeat a whole unit of skilled fighters.
